Privacy

Aion 2 Lookup shows public AION 2 character profiles. You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name, email or anything else about you. This page explains the little that is processed, and why.

Who is responsible

Aion 2 Lookup is run by an independent player, not a company, who is the controller under the GDPR. For questions or requests about your data, email [email protected].

Aion 2 Lookup is fan-made and unofficial. It is not affiliated with NCSOFT.

When you visit

The site runs on a server rented from Hetzner Online GmbH. To deliver pages, the server necessarily receives your IP address and browser details. We use your IP address for one thing: limiting how many lookups a single visitor can make per minute, so nobody can overload the site or the official armory. That counter lives in memory and is gone within minutes. We keep no access logs of your visits.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and available (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Character profiles

When someone opens a profile, we fetch it from NCSOFT's official AION 2 armory and save a copy: character name, server, class, gear, stats and similar game data that the armory publishes for everyone. We save it so pages load quickly and the armory isn't asked again and again. We don't link profiles to visitors: looking someone up says nothing about who you are.

If you own a character and want its saved copy removed, email us. Note that the official armory itself keeps publishing it.

Stored on your device

Your favourites and recent searches are kept in your browser's local storage, so they are there next time. They never leave your device and we can't see them. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Fonts are served from our own server. Character portraits and item icons load directly from NCSOFT's image servers (plaync.com and playnccdn.com), so NCSOFT receives your IP address when your browser fetches them, as with any image on the web.

Analytics

We use Umami Cloud to see how the site is used: which pages are visited, which characters are looked up and whether refreshing works. Umami sets no cookies and does not store your IP address; it counts visits with an anonymous identifier that changes regularly. Page addresses are sent without their query string, so what you type into search is not included. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, nothing is recorded.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Advertising

Character profile pages may show ads from Google AdSense, provided by Google Ireland Limited (in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland). The search pages never show ads.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent before using cookies or personal data for ads, through Google's own consent message. You can change your choice at any time with the “Privacy and cookie settings” link Google shows on pages with ads.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.

How long data is kept

  • Rate-limit counters: minutes, in memory only.
  • Saved character profiles: until they are removed on request or no longer needed.
  • Database backups: 14 days.
  • Umami statistics: as long as our Umami Cloud plan keeps them (currently 6 months).
  • Ad cookies: as set by Google, see the links above.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data about you, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent. Email [email protected]. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Changes

If what we do with data changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top shows when. Back to search.
